This morning Mr Johnson chaired an emergency Cobra committee, and Downing Street has said that a UK-wide action plan to tackle Covid-19 had been agreed and will be published tomorrow.
The meeting came as a health worker at a cancer centre in Hertfordshire became one of the new UK cases confirmed.
Worldwide more than 89,000 cases have been reported and the virus has spread to over 60 countries.

Dirty banknotes 'may be spreading the coronavirus'
Banknotes may be spreading the new coronavirus so people should try to use contactless payments instead, the World Health Organisation has said.
Customers should wash their hands after touching banknotes because infectious Covid-19 may cling to the surface for a number of days, the UN agency warned on Monday night.
To prevent the spread of the disease, people should use contactless technology where possible, a spokesman added.
Last night the Bank of England acknowledged that banknotes “can carry bacteria or viruses” and urged people to regularly wash their hands.

2020欧洲杯足球即时比分Richard Ratcliffe said his wife has still not been tested for the illness, despite showing symptoms.
He said the Iranian ministry of foreign affairs had told the Foreign Office (FCO) that she had been tested and confirmed negative.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分But Mr Ratcliffe said his wife had confirmed this had not happened and he had told the FCO this was the case.
Foreign Office minister Nigel Adams told Parliament on Monday evening: "I think things may have moved on a little bit today in terms of the testing with Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分"Clearly we are unable to comment on any medical assessments without the permission of Mrs Zaghari-Ratcliffe."

Meanwhile, Ryanair has announced that it is reducing the number of flights to and from Italy because of a downturn in demand.
"Ryanair today notified passengers that it was reducing its short haul flight program (mainly to and from Italy) by up to 25 per cent for a three-week period from Tues 17 March to Wed 8 April, in response to the Covid-19 virus," the airline said in a statement.
"Over the past week, Ryanair has seen a significant drop in bookings over that late March/early April period, in response to the Covid-19 virus."
Senegal confirms first case of coronavirus
S2020欧洲杯足球即时比分enegal on Monday confirmed its first case of the novel coronavirus - a French citizen who visited France last month before returning to the West African country.

Breaking news: doctor at cancer centre tests negative
A doctor at Mount Vernon cancer centre in Hertfordshire has tested negative for the virus, Public Health England has said.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分The doctor was counted as a confirmed case earlier today but Dr Nick Phin, Deputy Director, National Infection Service, Public Health England, said as part of the UK's "highly precautionary approach" cases that are presumed positive are counted as confirmed in order to limit the spread of the disease.
“This means we begin tracing close contacts of all cases and asking them to self-isolate before definitive confirmation by the PHE reference laboratory at Colindale.
"The confirmatory test for one case at Mount Vernon hospital has found that the result was negative and the person does not have novel coronavirus. This is obviously good news and we will therefore no longer ask the individuals to self-isolate," he said.
'Fighting this virus is a bridge for peace'
The WHO has sent a mission to Iran to support the country in its fight against the virus. As well as sending health specialists the organisation has sent enough protective equipment for 15,000 health workers and testing kits to diagnose 100,000 people.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分Dr Tedros praised the United States for sending a message of support to Iran and he added: "We have a common enemy ... and fighting this virus is a bridge for peace."
WHO: we need to see the outbreak in perspective
Dr Tedros declined to call the coronavirus outbreak a pandemic.
"We are monitoring the situation every moment of every day. WHO will not hesitate to describe this as a pandemic if that's what the evidence suggests. But we need to see this in perspective," he said, adding that 90 per cent of cases were in China and that 81 per cent of cases outside China were linked to four countries: South Korea, Italy, Iran and Japan.
Surge in number of cases outside China, WHO reports
There have been nine times more cases of the coronavirus outside China than inside in the last 24 hours, the World Health Organization announced in its latest daily press briefing.
China reported 206 new cases of the disease - the lowest daily total since January 22 , WHO director general Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told journalists.
He said that 81 per cent of the cases outside China were in just four countries and that 38 countries had only seen 10 cases or fewer.
He added: "The epidemics in Korea, Italy, Iran and Japan are our greatest concern." He said there are now more than 4,200 cases of the disease in South Korea but they appear to be mostly linked back to five main clusters.
Dr Tedros said: "This indicates that surveillance measures are working in Korea and the virus can be contained."He said the virus was "unique, with unique features" and was unlike influenza.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分"We are in uncharted territory. We have never seen before a respiratory pathogen capable of community transmission which can be contained with the right measures. If this was influenza we would have expected to see widespread community transmission across the globe right now. Containment of Covid-19 is feasible."
Don't forget to clean your phone
The public is being urged to clean their smartphone screens with alcohol wipes twice a day to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Covid-19, which has infected almost 80,000 people globally, has the ability to lurk on the flat surface for almost a week unless its disinfected, researchers have claimed.
William Keevil, a professor of environmental healthcare at the University of Southampton, said:
“You could be washing your hands, but if you start touching your smartphone screen and then touch your face that is a potential route of infection.”

Ryanair cuts flights
Ryanair will temporarily scrap up to 25 per cent of flights in its short-haul program, which mainly conducts journeys to and from Italy, because of the coronavirus, Louis Ashworth reports.
The budget airline said the cuts, which will cover the period from March 17th to April 8th, are in response to a drop in bookings prompted by the virus.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分It said there has also been “significant step up in passenger no-shows on flights”.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分The group said it does not expect the cancellations will have a “material effect” on its current guidance, but added it is “far too early to speculate” on what impact it will have on its 2021 financial year.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分Chief executive Michael O’Leary said:
"Our focus at this time is on minimising any risk to our people and our passengers. While we are heavily booked over the next two weeks, there has been a notable drop in forward bookings towards the end of March, into early April.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分"It makes sense to selectively prune our schedule to and from those airports where travel has been most affected by the Covid-19 outbreak.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分"This is a time for calm. We will make sensible cuts to our schedules over the comings weeks to reflect weaker bookings, and changing travel patterns."
Gavin Williamson: School closures a last resort
Schools "should stay open unless they're advised otherwise", Education Secretary Gavin Williamson has told MPs.
Speaking during Commons education questions, he said:
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分"We as like all Government departments are, right across the country, making sure that we have regular communications to all educational settings, making sure that they have a clear understanding of some of the challenges in dealing with the coronavirus.
"We're advising that schools should stay open unless they're advised otherwise by Public Health England and we're planning for reasonable worst-case scenario, working closely with other departments and of course PHE."
Citigroup’s coronavirus warning
Bankers at Citigroup have been banned from attending meetings and events with more than 25 people for fear of coronavirus.
Alan Tovey reports:
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分The orders are understood to have “come from the very top” of the heavyweight investment bank as worries about the spread of Covid-19 spread.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分One source close to the bank said: “What impact this is going have on deals nobody knows.
“But everyone is afraid that if the outbreak this continues, they don't want to be known as having been at ‘the meeting of death’ if an event is identified as a source of coronavirus spreading.”
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分It is not known if Citi’s controls extend to transport arrangements to meetings, where hundreds of people can be in very close contact on trains or buses.
Meanwhile, with the value of the world's biggest airlines plunging by billions of pounds amid the outbreak, the industry's global lobby group has called on regulators to suspend slot rules, Oliver Gill reports.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分One pair of taking off and landing slots can be worth tens of millions of pounds at popular bases such as Heathrow.
Rules stipulate that airlines must operate at least 80pc of their allocated slots, or lose them in the following year.

The so-called E3 group would provide the support through the World Health Organization or other UN agencies, it said in a statement.
The group was also sending medical material to Iran on Monday, including equipment for laboratory tests, protective body suits and gloves, the statement said.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分 The funding comes as a World Health Organization technical team has landed in Iran to support the coronavirus response.
Tajikistan shuts border to Brits
The government of Tajikistan has instructed airlines and travel agencies to stop selling tickets to nationals of 35 countries including Britain, Reuters has reported.
United States, China, Japan and Iran are also included in the ban, industry sources said on Monday.
In a letter to the companies cited by three industry sources, the Tajikistan Civil Aviation Agency warned them that passengers from those countries would be turned away at the border - the most robust measure taken so far by any of the Central Asian nations in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
What does 'flattening the epidemic curve' mean?
We've heard a lot about the government strategy to “contain, delay, research and mitigate”. But what is the aim and why is flattening the curve of an epidemic so important?
In simple terms, this means taking measures that prevent the virus running through the population at speed and unhindered, so that the impact is spread over time and the NHS not overwhelmed.
This chart gives you a visual sense of what that means for an outbreak - but the key point is that slowing the spread can dramatically reduce the fatality rate of a disease.
EU considers measures to 'safeguard our growth'
The European Union is considering measures to protect its economy against the impact of the coronavirus outbreak.
About 2,100 cases of coronavirus infections have been confirmed across 18 of the 27 EU states and 38 EU citizens have died, according to figures released today.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分The sudden outbreak of the disease in Europe since mid-February is pushing EU states to coordinate economic and health responses, Reuters has reported.
"The EU is ready to use all the available policy options if and when needed to safeguard our growth," EU economics commissioner Paolo Gentiloni told a news conference, saying risks threatened by the outbreak had now materialised.
H2020欧洲杯足球即时比分e listed transport, tourism and carmakers among the sectors most affected.
In an extraordinary conference call on Wednesday, EU finance ministers will discuss immediate actions taken at national level to reduce risks of an economic crisis, Mr Gentiloni said, including public support for healthcare and short-term liquidity measures.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分The teleconference will also prepare the ground for a possible "coordinated fiscal response" to be decided in March by European finance ministers. That could involve extraordinary measures similar to those adopted to combat the 2008 global financial crisis, Mr Gentiloni said, without giving more details.

"She wasn't symptomatic when she was on the plane. And she didn't take public transportation. Again, she is a health care worker. She's very sophisticated in this area. She took precautions that turned out to be advantageous," he said.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分While her case is not a cause for broader concern, Mr Cuomo said the state was ramping up the public health system to contain the spread of the virus.
He also said that he expected health authorities to find more cases.
"We will be testing for community spread. I fully expect to find community spread. You can't have it in this many places on the globe and in this many places in the country and it not be in New York," he told CNN.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分"But you can't let the fear outpace reality, right?" he added.

The centre says the risk to Europe is moderate to high and it expects more countries to start reporting cases over the coming days and weeks. It warns:
"A significant increase in COVID-19 cases in the coming weeks would have a high impact on public health and on healthcare systems. Increasing numbers of imported cases and local transmission chains would require additional resources for case management, surveillance, and contact tracing."
Ursula von der Leyen, the president of the European Commission, said this morning: "The risk level has risen from moderate to high for people living in the EU. In other words the virus has spread."

Officials said that the man first felt unwell on 21 February while in Italy and went for a check-up in Moscow last Thursday. He has been in hospital since then with light symptoms.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分The man's relatives and contacts have been tracked down and asked to take tests for coronavirus, according to the task force.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分Russia had previously reported two coronavirus cases when two Chinese nationals tested positive for Covid-2019 in the Far East in early February. They have since recovered.
African students still stuck in Wuhan
The Zimbabwean government has ignored calls for evacuation from about 350 students studying in Wuhan, China, Peta Thornycroft has reported.
They say President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration has neglected them at a time when nearly 200 South Africans are being repatriated.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分“Zimbabweans are desperate. The coronavirus situation is bad. Everything is closed and some people have run out of food. Government is not helping,” a Zimbabwe student told Newsday newspaper in Harare at the weekend.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分The students complained that their colleagues studying in Wuhan from from other African countries, such as Botswana, Zambia and Namibia have been sent extra cash by their governments as living costs have “skyrocketed” in Wuhan.
The Zimbabweans say their ambassador to China, Martin Chedondo, has been in contact with them to assure them of his concern, but that he gave them no information about whether they would be evacuated or would receive cash. Some students say they have no money for food and are now sleeping rough in Wuhan.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分So far Algeria, Egypt and Nigeria are the only countries in Africa known to have discovered people with Covid-19.
Covid-19 is one danger among many
Nick Timothy has written in his latest column that the coronavirus is just one danger among many facing the UK in our fragile, globalised world:
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分So just as the Government prepares for what it calls “civil contingencies”, it needs to get better at preparing the public for the inevitability of unfortunate events. It needs to work out what role it can play in leading improvements in international institutions and cooperation. And it needs to assess whether its policies strike the right balance between prevention and preparation.
Ministers were sensible, for example, to avoid overreacting to the initial spread of coronavirus. If they had prematurely ordered schools to shut down, there would have been an immediate and unnecessary blow to the economy as parents stayed at home to look after their children.
But the experience of Covid-19 so far has already exposed important questions.

An alternative greeting
A2020欧洲杯足球即时比分mid concerns about transmitting the coronavirus, people in Wuhan have developed a hand shake alternative: the 'Wuhan shake'.
In this video on Twitter the new greeting, a quick double foot tap, is on full display:
The Wuhan shake could well gather pace elsewhere - in France, officials have already issued guidance to residents warning against shaking hands.
And speaking on the radio this morning Professor Paul Cosford from Public Health England said that advising Britons not to kiss or shake hands with strangers was not far away.
"At the moment, we're in the position we need to continue life as normal, but we need to be prepared," he said.
Ocado in demand
B2020欧洲杯足球即时比分ritish online supermarket Ocado has advised customers to place orders further in advance because of "exceptionally high demand", indicating a possible reaction from shoppers to the spreading coronavirus outbreak.
Britain announced a jump in coronavirus cases on Sunday, with 13 new infections2020欧洲杯足球即时比分 taking the total to 36 and Prime Minister Boris Johnson warning that the number is likely to rise.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分Ocado, a pioneer in online food shopping, e-mailed some customers on Friday to warn of high demand for its delivery service, Reuters has reported.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分"More people than usual seem to be placing particularly large orders. As a result, delivery slots are selling out quicker than expected," it said.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分The company advised customers to place orders further in advance than they might normally; ideally, two or three days before. It also asked customers to book weekday delivery (Monday to Thursday) rather than weekends if they are able to be flexible.
Tracking the virus
T2020欧洲杯足球即时比分he number of cases in the UK has hit 36 - here's a breakdown of where infections have so far been detected:
Cases jump in Germany
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Germany has risen to 150 - up from 129 on Sunday - the Robert Koch Institute for disease control has said.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分The institute added that the risk from the virus in Germany is now "moderate", according to Reuters.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分More than half of the cases, 86, are in the western region of North Rhine-Westphalia - Germany's most populous state - where several schools and day care centres will be closed on Monday to try to prevent the spread of the virus after staff members tested positive.
Lothar Wieler, president of the Robert Koch Institute, said that of the 150 cases in Germany, the authorities had traced the origin of 140.
Vodafone confirmed that one of its German employees was infected with the virus.
Doors stay shut at the Louvre
P2020欧洲杯足球即时比分aris' Louvre museum remains closed today, after staff concerns about the potential spread of the coronavirus amid tourists forced it to shut yesterday.
Talks between management and workers about the risks associated with the virus continue, but it's not yet clear when the popular museum will reopen to the public.
Museums, tourist venues and theme parks are not covered by a ban on large public gatherings announced by the government on Saturday, as it tries to contain an outbreak in France that has killed two people and infected some 130.
UK should 'absolutely' engage with EU pandemic warning system
Baroness Blackwood, a former health minister ousted in last month's reshuffle, has said the UK should "absolutely" remain part of an EU pandemic warning system after Brexit.
As coronavirus continues to spead, Lady Blackwood said that it would be "very sensible" for the UK to remain part of the system, which she said was important to protecting "public health".
Her intervention comes after The Telegraph revealed this morning that Downing Street and Health officials are locked in a row over post-Brexit access to the Early Warning and Response System (EWRS) as part of the EU-UK future relationship deal.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分Senior health advisers warned that exiting the EWRS, which has helped coordinate the response to the virus and played a vital role during the bird flu outbreak, would put public health at risk.
However, the British negotiating team, which reports to Boris Johnson, did not want to blur the UK’s request for a basic, Canada-style trade deal, it is claimed.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分Speaking to Sky News, Lady Blackwood said:
"My advice whilst I was in there was that we absolutely should stay engaged with that system, it was one of the ways we did get early warning of coronavirus.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分"I think we should be seeking to remain engaged with it."
Stock markets gains fade after strong open
The latest from Louis Ashworth on the business liveblog:
European stock indices came out swinging this morning after central banks pledged to ensure stability in the face of the outbreak.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分But gains have fizzled out somewhat since then, with the FTSE 100 – which rose as much 3pc in early trading – now up just 0.82pc.
That leaves a long way to go to recover the steep losses from last week. Once again, travel firms are seeing the biggest hit, with IAG – owner of British Airways – down about 10pc.
E2020欧洲杯足球即时比分arlier this morning, the Bank of England said it was working with the Treasury and FCA as well as international partners “to ensure all necessary steps are taken to protect financial and monetary stability” in the face of the global coronavirus outbreak.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分Investors are taking that as a signal that the Bank will look to cut interest rates in the near future – which has caused the pound to fall, as poorer interest rates make it less lucrative to hold the currency.
Bank of England quells panic
The Bank of England has joined global efforts to quell the market panic over the coronavirus, saying it was ready to take “all necessary steps” to maintain market stability.
Threadneedle Street’s intervention follows a week of turmoil on equity markets, which saw more than £200 billion wiped off the value of the UK’s leading share index on concerns over the eventual impact of the outbreak on the economy.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分The Bank said it was “assessing its potential impacts on the global and UK economies and financial systems”.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分It added: “The Bank is working closely with HM Treasury and the Financial Conduct Authority - as well as our international partners - to ensure all necessary steps are taken to protect financial and monetary stability.”

Coronavirus warning at Grenfell inquiry
The Grenfell Tower inquiry today resumed with a warning from Sir Martin Moore-Bick, the retired judge leading the process, about the threat of coronavirus, Jack Hardy reports.
The inquiry chairman urged anyone who felt unwell not to attend evidence hearings, which are being held at a new base in Paddington, west London.
In an unusual move, he told the hearing it was "important" that hand sanitiser was used by those at the inquiry.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分"Avoid attending the hearings if you feel at all unwell," he said.
The inquiry is hearing evidence about how and why dangerous material came to be fitted on the west London block ahead of the deadly inferno in 2017.

Post-Brexit coronavirus row
Downing Street and the Department of Health are locked in a row over post-Brexit access to an EU pandemic warning system in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, our Europe Editor Peter Foster reports.
Matt Hancock’s department wanted to retain membership of the Early Warning and Response System (EWRS) as part of the EU-UK future relationship deal, but No 10 said “no”.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分Senior health advisers warned that exiting the EWRS, which has helped coordinate the response to the virus and played a vital role during the bird flu outbreak, would put public health at risk.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分However, the British negotiating team, which reports to Boris Johnson, did not want to blur the UK’s request for a basic, Canada-style trade deal, it is claimed. Every add-on requested by the UK would risk giving the EU leverage to demand post-Brexit alignment.
Mr Hancock is also understood to have been told he could not travel to Europe to meet other health ministers because Britain has now left the EU.

Wuhan coronavirus hospital closes as 'cases controlled'
T2020欧洲杯足球即时比分he Chinese city at the heart of the epidemic has closed the first of 16 specially built hospitals, hurriedly put up to treat people with the virus, after it discharged its last recovered patients, state broadcaster CCTV said on Monday.
News of the closure coincided with a sharp fall in new cases in Hubei province and its capital of Wuhan but China remained on alert for people returning home with the virus from other countries where it has spread.
"The rapid rising trend of virus cases in Wuhan has been controlled," Mi Feng, a spokesman for China's National Health Commission told a briefing, according to Reuters.
"Outbreaks in Hubei outside of Wuhan are curbed and provinces outside of Hubei are showing a positive trend."
Pounding empty streets
T2020欧洲杯足球即时比分he Tokyo marathon took place yesterday against a backdrop of empty streets amid coronavirus fears - organisers reduced those able to complete the race to just a couple of hundred elite runners and wheelchair athletes.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分The mass race, which usually attracts roughly 38,000 competitors, was cancelled and spectators were advised to "avoid gathering along the course" and instead watch from home.

Wimbledon College confirms coronavirus case
A2020欧洲杯足球即时比分 school in south London, Wimbledon College, has closed for at least a week after a staff member contracted the coronavirus.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分In a letter to parents, the school said that the staff member picked the virus up in northern Italy and has not been in contact with any pupils.
A2020欧洲杯足球即时比分drian Laing, the head master, wrote:
"However, as some staff members are now classed as close contacts of a confirmed case of COVID-19 they are required to self-isolate as a precautionary measure for 14 days. Unfortunately, this means we will have to temporarily close the school due to low staffing members.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分"We plan to reopen the school on Tuesday 10th March. While we are closed we will carry out deep cleaning of the school.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分"PHE has advised us that at this current time there is no increased risk to the pupil population as a result of this case and pupils and their families do not need to self-isolate."
Next phase - delay
H2020欧洲杯足球即时比分ealth Secretary Matt Hancock said last week that Britain's coronavirus plan was four-fold.
Contain, delay, research and mitigate.
At the moment, we are still in the first phase - contain.
- Identify illness
- Isolate them from their contacts
- Do everything to prevent the spread from them
Although the next phase - delay - isn't too different to the first, according to Prof Cosford.
It will still involve the points above, but may also mean
- Isolating family members of those infected, even if no symptoms
- Asking people without symptoms to work from home
- Asking people to reduce "social contact" outside of work and home life
France-style 'ban on shaking hands' may come to Britain
Although we're not at that stage yet, Prof Cosford said that advising Britons not to kiss or shake hands with strangers was not far away.
In France, officials have issued guidance to residents warning against shaking hands.
And asked if Britain was about to follow suit, Prof Cosford said: "The infection is spreading more widely in France at the moment as we've seen - they're up at 100 cases.
"We do need to get to a point where we reduce social contact if we see more widespread infection.
"At the moment, we're in the position we need to continue life as normal, but we need to be prepared for the "actions for the we may need to take."
Who is at most risk?
Asked about the spread of the virus, Prof Cosford said:
There are some important things to remind ourselves about this virus - for the vast majority of people they will make a full recovery and it is a relatively mild illness. Children and otherwise healthy adults seem to be at much lower risk of getting to the serious complications that you might get with this sort of disease... it's older people and people with severe underlying illnesses that we will be particularly concerned about.
Of course we've all got a part to play in slowing the spread of infection and if we do get widespread transmission in the UK the important thing for us now is to make sure we are prepared in every possible way to slow the spread of infection so that the intensity reduces and we are more able to deal with the consequences.
PHE boss: We will get more widespread transmission in UK
P2020欧洲杯足球即时比分rof Paul Cosford, the director for health protection and medical director for Public Health England, is speaking on Radio 4. He said:
The increase in numbers that we are seeing, coupled with the increases in countries nearby in Europe and South-East Asia, do make it much more likely that we will get more widespread transmission in the UK.
"There is more testing going on and it is still the case that the vast majority of cases we have got in the UK we can trace a link to countries where there is an infection and people returning from those countries, but we haven't been able to identify that in every single case now so that's something we are obviously looking at extremely carefully to understand where the source of those infections may be.
Grammar school shuts
A school in Devon has shut because of coronavirus. Authorities at Churston Ferrers Grammar school in Torbay took the measure after receiving a warning from Public Health England about a potential case of Covid-19 there. 2020欧洲杯足球即时比分If the case is confirmed it will be the first one in the south west of England south of Gloucestershire.

Shadow health secretary: I would back shutting down cities
Jonathon Ashworth, the shadow health secretary, says he would support shutting down cities to control the spread of coronavirus.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分Speaking on BBC Breakfast this morning, Mr Ashworth said he wanted clarity from the Government about its next steps to contain the Covid-19 virus.
Asked if he would support shutting down cities to prevent the spread within the UK, Mr Ashworth said: "If the medical advice and the scientific advice is to take measures along those lines, of course we would support them."
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分He continued: "It would be a move by Government so drastic that we hadn't seen it. And I'm not sure how practical it could be in reality.
"However this virus is serious and appears to spread very easily and we need to contain it and slow down the spread.
"If the medical advice is to do something like that then of course we should support it.
"That is why I am keen, however, that Matt Hancock, the Health Secretary, comes to the House of Commons today after the Cobra meeting to update MPs on plans.
"We just need clarity from Government."
Clinician at cancer centre infected
A health worker at a cancer centre is one of the new UK cases confirmed yesterday, it has emerged this morning.
The patient is described as a "clinician from Mount Vernon Cancer Centre" in Northwood, Herts.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分An NHS spokesman said:
All individuals who were in contact with the clinician have been identified and the appropriate measures taken. The risk to patients and staff at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre is very low and we are working with individual patients to appropriately manage their care.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分We would like to offer assurance that it remains safe for patients to attend Mount Vernon Cancer Centre as normal and ask patients to attend scheduled outpatients appointments.

Mike Pence defends response
Vice President Mike Pence has defended the US administration's handling of the coronavirus epidemic after two confirmed deaths on American soil and rising criticism of the state of US preparedness.
Mr Pence and Health Secretary Alex Azar made the rounds of Sunday talk shows with the message that risks from the disease remain low for most Americans, while promising to make up for testing shortfalls.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分"We could have more sad news, but the American people should know the risk to the average American remains low," Mr Pence said on CNN's "State of the Union."
The assurances came a day after officials confirmed that two men had died in the northwestern state of Washington after becoming infected with the virus.

Indonesia reports first cases
Indonesian President Joko Widodo is announcing that two Indonesians have tested positive for coronavirus, marking the first confirmed cases in the world's fourth most populous country.
The two are receiving treatment in hospital, Widodo told reporters at the presidential palace in Jakarta. He did not specify where the patients were being treated.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分Indonesia’s apparent lack of cases had been flagged by diplomats as a cause for alarm. A University of Southampton report based on the smartphone and flight data of travellers from Wuhan revealed earlier this month that it was statistically implausible for Indonesia to have no cases.
Australia: Impossible to prevent coronavirus from entering country
A2020欧洲杯足球即时比分ustralia's chief medical officer says it is no longer possible to completely prevent people with the coronavirus from entering the country.
One of the first countries to put restrictions on its borders in a bid to limit the spread of the virus, Australia confirmed its first death from the disease on Sunday.
"It is no longer possible to absolutely prevent new cases coming in," Brendan Murphy, Australia's Chief Medical Officer, told reporters in Canberra.
"We have got concerns about Japan and South Korea. They are working hard to control their outbreaks but we are still concerned that people in those countries and other high risk countries may present with an infection."
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分Australia has reported 29 cases of coronavirus, including the weekend death, but there has been no community transmission.
US battles escalating virus crisis
H2020欧洲杯足球即时比分ealth officials in Washington state have said that a second person has died from the coronavirus - a man in his 70s from a nursing facility near Seattle where dozens of people were sick and had been tested for the virus.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分Researchers said earlier the virus may have been circulating for weeks undetected in Washington state, AP reports.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分In a statement, Public Health_Seattle & King County said the man died on Saturday. On Friday, health officials said a man in his 50s died of coronavirus. Both had underlying health conditions, and both were being treated at a hospital in Kirkland, Washington, east of Seattle.
Washington state now has 12 confirmed cases.
State and local authorities stepped up testing for the illness as the number of new cases grew nationwide, with new infections announced in California, Illinois, Rhode Island, New York and Washington state.
Authorities in the Seattle area reported four new cases on Sunday night, including the man who died. Two health care workers in California were also diagnosed. Of the new Washington state cases, two were women, one in her 80s and another in her 90s. Both were in critical condition. A man in his 70s was also in critical condition. All three were from the LifeCare nursing facility in Kirkland, Washington, where health officials said 50 people are sick and being tested for the virus.
In California, two health care workers in the San Francisco Bay area who cared for an earlier coronavirus patient were diagnosed with the virus on Sunday, the Alameda and Solano counties said in a joint statement.
Alameda County declared a state of emergency on Sunday following the news.
Summary of developments
Thirteen more people have tested positive for the coronavirus in the UK, with one of the patients having no known travel to any of the affected countries.
Scotland confirmed its first case on Sunday evening was a Tayside resident who recently returned from Italy.
2020欧洲杯足球即时比分Despite the rapid spike in cases, Prime Minister Boris Johnson told reporters that he was "very, very confident" that the NHS could cope with an outbreak and urged the public to do their bit by following public health advice.
The day's other main developments include:
